Evangelism
There are approximately 33,000 villages with no gospel presence in the Amazon region! If you have a passion for sharing the gospel with the lost we could use you on our evangelism teams. Every day groups depart from the boat and share the gospel one on one or in small groups with the people of the village. Every evening we have a small service where we share our testimonies and God's Word. The gospel is presented in a variety of ways in the Amazon. Because the Brazilian people are extremely relational we encourage all our team members to form relationships with the villagers prior to presenting the gospel message. The boats are equipped with tracts, Evangecubes, Bibles, VBS stories, skits and the Jesus film. These tools are used throughout the day as the gospel is presented to the crowds standing in line to see the doctor or dentist, one on one as evangelism teams go hut to hut, to groups of men and women in Bible studies, and to the children at VBS. Literally, 1000’s have prayed to receive Christ as a result of hearing the Gospel through Amazon Outreach team members.
The fruit of Amazon Outreach’s ministry is two-fold. The lives of the American team members are as greatly impacted as the Brazilian villagers they are ministering to. We have seen many villagers come to know the saving power of Christ along the Amazon and grow into mature Christians. We have also seen Americans learn spiritual truths they never knew before, grow deeper in their love for Christ, and become passionate about sharing the Gospel with everyone they meet.
